Faith doesn’t always come easily. Even when we love God and desire to trust Him, there are seasons when our faith feels stretched, shaky, or simply not enough. That’s why the request the apostles made in Luke 17:5 is so relatable: “Lord, increase our faith.” It’s an honest prayer—simple, humble, and deeply human.

This is a reflection on that scripture and a prayer for those moments when believing feels hard, waiting feels long, or obedience feels costly. If you’re longing to trust God more, grow spiritually, or be strengthened in your walk with Him, this prayer is an invitation to ask God for what He delights to give—greater faith.

A Prayer For Greater Faith

Father God,

In humility we come before You, just as the apostles did, saying: “Lord, increase our faith.”

Where our faith is small, strengthen it. Where doubt has crept in through waiting, pain, or unanswered questions, renew our trust in You.

Teach us to rely not on what we see or feel, but on Your Word, which never fails. Increase our faith to believe You fully, to obey You quickly, to forgive freely, and to stand firm even when circumstances challenge what You have spoken.

We ask that our faith would grow daily—rooted in truth, anchored in love, and confident in Your power.

Let our faith glorify You and align us with Your will.

Lord, increase our faith.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
