Trusting God With My New Writing Journey
I’ve recently stepped into a new and exciting season—building a career in writing books. It’s something that has been placed on my heart, and while it requires discipline, creativity, and faith, I know one thing for certain: God will bless my books because they are the work of my hands.
These books are not just personal projects—they are offerings. I’ve chosen to place them fully in God’s hands, trusting that He will breathe life into them, guide their reach, and use them for His glory.
The Bible shows us a powerful truth: what we give to Jesus, He blesses and expands. Just like in Matthew 14:13–21, when a small offering of loaves and fish was placed in His hands, He multiplied it beyond imagination. In the same way, I believe God will take what I create and multiply its impact far beyond what I can see.
And this promise isn’t just for me—it’s for you too.
God Blesses What You Commit to Him
The Word of God reminds us in Deuteronomy 28:12:
“The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of His bounty, to bless all the work of your hands.”
This means that whatever you are building—whether it’s a business, a ministry, a career, or even raising a family—God is deeply invested in it when you surrender it to Him.
When we try to carry everything on our own, we often feel overwhelmed and uncertain. But when we place our work in God’s hands, we invite His power, wisdom, and favor into the process.
From Small to Overflow: The Power of Surrender
In Matthew 14, a young boy offered five loaves and two fish. It didn’t look like enough. It didn’t seem significant. But in the hands of Jesus, it became more than enough.
This is how God works.
- What feels small becomes significant
- What seems limited becomes abundant
- What looks ordinary becomes extraordinary
When you surrender your work—your effort, your creativity, your ideas—God multiplies it in ways you could never achieve on your own.
God Establishes the Work of Your Hands
Psalm 90:17 says:
“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.”
To “establish” means to make something firm, lasting, and impactful. It means your work will not be in vain.
As I continue writing, I hold onto this promise. My prayer is not just for success, but for God’s hand to be evident in everything I create—that my work would carry purpose, reach hearts, and glorify Him.
And the same can be true for you.
A Prayer for the Work of Your Hands
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gifts, ideas, and opportunities You have placed in my life. Thank You for the work of my hands and the ability to create, build, and grow.
Your Word says in Proverbs 16:3, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” Today, I commit everything I am working on into Your hands.
Lord, just as You blessed and multiplied the loaves and fish, I ask that You bless and multiply the work of my hands. Take what seems small and turn it into something impactful and abundant.
I declare Your promise in Deuteronomy 28:12—that You will bless all the work of my hands. Let Your favor rest upon me, as written in Psalm 90:17. Establish my work, O God. Give it purpose, growth, and lasting impact.
Remove fear, doubt, and discouragement. Fill me with faith, discipline, and clarity. Help me trust You with both the process and the outcome.
Father, I also lift up everyone reading this. Bless the work of their hands. Prosper their efforts and guide their steps. Let everything they surrender to You flourish according to Your will.
I place it all in Your hands, Jesus—knowing that what You touch, You bless and multiply.
