As believers in Christ Jesus, we are not passive recipients of life—we are called to speak, decree, and align our words with God’s promises. Scripture teaches us that life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21), and through Christ, we have been made kings and priests unto God (Revelation 1:6).
Long life is not a wish; it is a biblical promise for those who walk in covenant with the Lord. Through prayerful declarations rooted in God’s Word, we enforce what Christ has already secured for us by His sacrifice. These declarations are spoken in faith, under the authority of Jesus Christ, and in agreement with heaven.
Faith Declarations for Long Life
In my role as a king and priest unto the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the authority of Jesus Christ, I decree and declare this over myself and my household, both now and forevermore:
• We shall come to our grave in a full old age, like a shock of corn coming in its season.
📖 Job 5:26 — “Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.”
• Our God is the God of victories; the Almighty is our escape from death.
📖 Psalm 68:20 — “He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.”
• The Lord will release and deliver us when we are appointed to death.
📖 Psalm 102:19–20 — “For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary… To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death.”
• The Lord will not take us away in the midst of our days; our years shall continue throughout all generations.
📖 Psalm 102:24 — “I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.”
• Our days shall be multiplied, and years of life shall be added unto us.
📖 Proverbs 9:11 — “For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.”
• The Lord will remove from us the cloud of gloom and the shadow of death that hangs over the earth.
📖 Isaiah 25:7–8 — “And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people… He will swallow up death in victory.”
Prayer for Long Life
My Father,
We receive every declaration spoken here, not as empty words, but as covenant realities established by Your promises. Let Your Spirit watch over these words to perform them. We reject premature death, sickness unto death, and every agenda of darkness assigned against our lives and our household.
By the blood of Jesus, we decree that our days are preserved, our years are fulfilled, and our lives are hidden in Christ. We shall live to declare the works of the Lord, fulfill our purpose, and finish our race in strength and peace.
Father, clothe us with light and remove every shadow of death, gloom, and fear from our path. Let Your salvation speak loudly over our homes, our bodies, and our future. We choose life, and we agree with heaven concerning long life, divine preservation, and a peaceful end in old age.
We seal these prayers and declarations in the mighty and matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen
