From the beginning of Scripture, the firstborn carries deep spiritual significance.

God Himself declares that the firstborn belong to Him. Throughout Scripture, we see that where God lays claim, He also provides protection, redemption, and inheritance. Under the New Covenant, this truth is fulfilled and secured through Jesus Christ—the Firstborn among many brethren—through whom our children are redeemed, registered in heaven, and preserved by grace.

This prophetic prayer and blessing is rooted entirely in Scripture and spoken from a place of authority, not anxiety. It is a declaration of what God has already promised: that our children are covered by the blood of Jesus, established in blessing, and kept by His power. As you speak these words over your firstborn, you are not fighting for victory—you are enforcing the victory Christ has already won.

Let’s Pray:

My Father,

As a priest and a king unto the Lord Jesus Christ, I permanently mark my firstborn with the blood of Jesus. Just as You protected the firstborn of Israel by the blood on the doorposts (Exodus 12:13), let the blood of Jesus speak better things over my child. Let No weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every plan of darkness concerning his life be cancelled by the authority of Jesus Christ.

My Father, Your Word says that my children are a heritage from You. (Psalm 127:3). Therefore, let no scheme of the enemy, no generational attack, no hidden agenda of Satan prevail against him. Let every assignment of darkness, and every attempt to distort his destiny in anyway always fail, in the name of Jesus.

Let angels be assigned to guard him in all his ways (Psalm 91:11). Let him grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). Let his mind be sound, his body be strong, and his spirit be anchored in your truth, both now and forevermore in Jesus Christ name.

Dedicating Your First Born to God

My Father,

I dedicate my child back to You, Lord, just as Hannah dedicated Samuel (1 Samuel 1:27–28). Let my his life bring You glory. Let him walk in the light of Christ all the days of his life,

In the name of Jesus Christ I dedicate him.
